Personal Works

Illustration, comics and motion, made outside any brief. Figures finished in color, short strips written and drawn to a fixed panel count, lettering as an excuse to draw letterforms rather than set them, and the 3D work where a technique gets tried before it reaches a client. One comic reached the front page of Reddit, which was not the plan.

Misc Art

Lettering and one-off pieces made outside of any brief. Heavy, high-contrast, usually two or three colors, and usually an excuse to draw letterforms rather than set them.

Comics

Short strips, written and drawn. The panel count is what makes them interesting to make. The joke has to land inside a fixed number of frames, so the writing and the staging are one decision.

Drawings

Illustration, mostly figures and characters, mostly finished in color. This is the work that the drawing app grew out of: the same problems of construction, value and focal point that DrawEvolve's critique system is built to talk about.

Motion Graphics

Animation and 3D, and the place where techniques get tried before they turn up in client work. The Similac render is a packaging study: a real product, modelled and lit from scratch, for the practice rather than for a brief.
